July 14, 2018 - From Jessica + Peter
Our goal with this event is to use our experience and expertise to put on a triathlon of a different nature. We want to bring back the grassroots-style triathlon feel, have a comfortable amount of participants, take advantage of incredible courses, utilize our local friends and business partners to add in a hometown feel and, most importantly, have a fun event for you that is professionally managed.
Safety will always be our #1 priority so we took a very diligent approach to planning before opening registration. We made the decision to confirm the permits and have buy-in from each city and township our courses touched. To ensure this, our release (open registration) date was later than we hoped, that being early May of this year.
While the feedback about the event for this year has been 100% positive in terms of event plan, distance and time of year, a highly significant number of our potential participants had already committed to other events and family vacations. Therefore, we have made the decision to postpone the debut of the The Loop Pursuit Triathlon until 2019.
We firmly believe this will give you and others more time to learn about our event, ensure it is part of your 2019 training and racing season and will give us an opportunity to grow participation and enhance our "give back” program to help youth in our community stay active.
Registration is not open currently. This years registered participants have the option to defer to 2019 or receive a full refund.
Lastly, we send out a huge thank you for believing in us and supporting The Loop Pursuit Triathlon. We’re more excited than ever about this event and can’t wait to share more details with you over the coming months.
We are making the debut in 2019!
The Loop Pursuit is the triathlon experience you’ve been longing for. We’re focusing on what you love about the sport — camaraderie, challenge, attaining a personal best — and leaving behind those things you don’t.
Brought to you by Verona’s own Rocket Bicycle Studio, you can be assured that this mid-distance length endurance event is designed and managed with you in mind, your safety and the unique assets our community has to offer.
The Loop Pursuit Triathlon gives participants a "right distance" race opportunity to use for long course triathlon training and a challenge for those wanting a bit more than a sprint distance triathlon.
